Assessing our soulful mood

When the soul speaks, I listen

Soulful mood: Do not think too much and see whatever feels instinctive as these fluctuate for all of us over time.

If you fulfill any point in the category, count that category. Add the number of categories you fulfill.

1.       Being patient (patience is a common sign of Soulfulness, of accepting nature)  

-        I am usually patient

- I am a good listener ….. or I like listening to most people …. or I mostly listen patiently (An introvert or a quiet person can be a bad or impatient or tune out listener)

2.     A Calm, accepting mood

-        I am usually calm ....sometimes things, people, situations upset me but not for long

-        I am usually in a calm, peaceful mood

-        Most of the time, I feel relaxed and open to new things.... my body feels relaxed .... my mind feels relaxed- I have few fears or anxieties/worries.

3.      Enjoying life and other people

-        I accept or enjoy other people as they are and I usually accept situations and life as it comes.

4.      Love and open giving heart

-        I am not afraid to love.. I have few fears or worries about giving and loving others ... I feel my heart is open

-        Most of the time, I feel love for people close to me  .... I feel love and compassion for others

5.      No or few comparison

-        Normally I don’t compare myself with other people..... I feel ok about myself.

6.      Forgive (I understand that we all make mistakes, me included .... so I forgive and don’t hold grudges or resentment...I let go)

-        I don’t hold on to resentment, grievances and let go easily

7.      Giving nature or like helping other people  

-        I like helping people

-        I like giving to other people, non-financially.... I give my time or help

8.      Kindness and self-Compassion

-        I believe it is normal, human to make mistakes (we all do) and I am not hard on myself and on others ….. or not hard for very long.

-        If I make a mistake, I don’t judge myself or others harshly

-        I am mostly kind to myself….. I have few or mostly no unkind thoughts

9.      Feeling joyful

-        I feel grateful....

-        I feel joyful .... sometimes for a reason and sometimes for no reason at all ... It just comes from inside

10.   Feeling soulful

-        I feel soulful many times... I listen to my instincts, intuition ... I listen to wisdom which comes from inside 

-        I feel the soulfulness of nature, of our earth and feel reverence for it

-        I feel the soulfulness of life and feel reverence - for the life in every leaf, tree, animal ... for every human being

11.   Being authentic

-        I am usually myself …. or I don’t spend too much time or worry about being the socialized self.

-        I listen more to myself than to the external world (parents, partner, family, society, religion, culture etc)  

-        I may get influenced temporarily by other people but left alone, I go back to myself. 

12.   Time spent in soulful mood

-        I spend most or more than half of my day in a soulful mood.

 7 or more : high Soulfulness         5 -6 : medium soulful        4 or less: low soulful  

Being soulful and connected with our spirit seems to be the foundation of our spirituality. The more soulful we are, the more content we feel. Soulfulness leads to being at peace with ourselves and the world. It leads to feeling strong, stable and secure – a feeling of contentment and joy.
